Nyota Ndogo on Tuesday made a quick Sh20,000 in less than three minutes after a man paid her to sing for his girlfriend.
As the story goes, the ‘Subira Yangu’ singer received a text message of the Mpesa cash transaction at 5.30 am when she was preparing her children to go to school.
Thinking it was money sent to a wrong number, the Coast-based singer soon after received a call from the sender requesting her to serenade his girlfriend with a happy birthday song.
“In my whole life, I have never been paid to sing over the phone. It was a surprising request. At first I thought the Mpesa message was sent to my phone by mistake. As I was jotting down his number so I can call him back, he called and made the request,” Nyota said.
While the Sh 20,000 was a sweet bonus, it was the man’s act of love that impressed Nyota Ndogo and moved her to tears.
