Nairobi senator Mike Sonko is a proud father after his adopted son, Gift Osinya, scored a mean grade A in his KCPE exams.
Osinya, who won the Jubilee Insurance Samaritan Award (JISA) in 2014 for his bravery in rescuing his younger brother, Satrin, from a tragic terror attack on a church in Kilifi, scored a total of 399 marks out of a possible 500.
Mike Sonko adopted the two boys after the death of their mother, Veronica Osinya, in the attack at Joy in Jesus Church.
Satrin who had a bullet lodged in his head underwent successful surgery and upon recovery was enrolled at Runda Mumwe Kindergarten in Runda while Gift was enrolled at Bethlehem Academy, a private boarding school in Ruiru.
Their father, Benson Osinya, who was jobless got permanent employment at Kenya Power.
On Thursday, Sonko shared the good news on social media writing, “Today, I can say I’m a very proud father, Gift Osinya has scored a mean grade of A. Total marks 399 as follows: A in English 77 mrks; A in Kiswahili 85 mrks; A in Mathematics 87 mrks; A in Social studies 77mrks and B in Science 73mrks.”
The philanthropic senator has gifted Gift with a Sh 2 Million account towards his Secondary school education.
