A senior police officer was on Wednesday morning murdered during a carjacking incident within Kayole in Nairobi.
The assistant superintendent identified as Eston Ndwiga was shot twice in the chest by gunmen at Mihango in Kayole.
According to a police report, the officer was driving to his home in Mihang’o at around 4 am when he was attacked by the gunmen.
AP boss Samuel Arachi said the officer’s body was found inside his vehicle that was next to another abandoned by the thugs after the carjacking didn’t go as planned.
An investigation has been launched to establish the motive of the killing that occurred less than a kilometre from the slain officer’s home.
The officer was based at Police Headquarters and was a medical doctor serving other Administration police officers.
