An administration Police Officer is in critical condition after he was shot twice in the chest by gunmen in Kayole on Thursday morning.
The officer is said to have been on patrol together with a colleague when gunmen driving in a taxi opened fire on them.
The second officer escaped unhurt in the 2am incident.
The attack comes a day after senior AP Assistant Superintendent Eston Ndwiga was murdered in the same area.
The unharmed officer said they received a call from a taxi driver who was complaining about a troublesome passenger.
” The taxi driver called us and said that a passenger in the car was creating trouble. He was shot as he prepared to search the occupants in the taxi but I managed to escape,” said the officer.
Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome declined to comment on the attack.
