There was drama in Mombasa on Tuesday after a man jumped from a high rise building to avoid paying a debt, reports Coast-based media station Baraka FM.
According to eyewitness accounts, the Ugandan man had gone on an errand in Cannon Towers 2nd floor along Moi Avenue when the man he had gone to see threatened to call the police to arrest him for failing to settle a Sh30,000 debt.
The suspect then took off and jumped from the 2nd floor through an open window.
He however survived the fall with minor leg injuries after landing on a tuk tuk parked below an adjacent building.
The man, a clearing and forwarding agent, has a reputation of not settling accrued debts.
