Narc Kenya leader, Martha Karua, on Tuesday, November 29 received President Uhuru Kenyatta during his tour of Kirinyaga County.
Karua, a once fierce critic of the Jubilee administration cordially received the president’s delegation which included Deputy President William Ruto.
The tough spoken Karua nicknamed the ‘Iron Lady’ was all smiles as she received the two Jubilee leaders.
However, it was Uhuru’s hug with Martha Karua that drew all the attention.
In a video doing rounds on social media, the president is seen approaching Karua and addressing her as ‘my sister,’ to which Karua responds ‘I’m right here.’
The two then proceed to hug and exchange pleasantries.
About a month ago, Karua shelved her presidential bid but denied expressly endorsing President Kenyatta’s re-election.
On Tuesday, Uhuru while addressing a crowd in Kerugoya town urged Karua to dissolve her party to join Jubilee Party if she wants to work with him in 2017. Karua flashed Narc-K symbol to the crowd in defiance.
