Kenya’s fastest rising Dancehall sensation Dufla Diligon – once a heardsman in Baragoi, Samburu, does not come cheap.
The hitmaker rose to instant fame with the hit, ‘Tempo’, which he later remixed with Uganda’s sultry Dancehall queen Cindy Sanyu. He recently followed that up with an equally impressive anthem ‘Biringisha’, which he says is making waves as far as Nigeria.
“Right now, my latest jam Biringisha is among the top ten songs in Nigeria as ranked by Beat FM. I am being nominated and winning continental awards.
“I owe all these to God for gifting me with an ability to work hard.” He told Word Is.
The hard work is paying off for the award-winning star who first set foot in the capital in 2013. He is getting bookings to perform in not less than four shows in a week.
For each club show, the Grandpa Records signed star is charging between Sh70,000 and Sh150,000 per show. Corporates have to dig deeper and part with nothing less than Sh300,000 per gig.
That is not all.
To work with other artistes in a collabo, they must not only be worth it but would have to part with a minimum of Sh500,000.
“I can’t just collabo with any artiste. For me to feature in other artiste’s collabo, it must be worth it.
“I am charging between Sh500,000 and Sh1.5 million for a collabo.”
Dufla, real name David Long’oji Ekiru, is currently on a countrywide music tour that has so far taken him to Nakuru, Kisumu and Eldoret.
Homabay, Mombasa, Malindi, Voi, Lodwar, Kitale, Machakos, Thika and Kitui await his presence in that particular order.
