While addressing a diplomatic forum in Kampala on Saturday, President Uhuru Kenyatta joked that he was tempted to call International Criminal Court prosecutor Fatou Bensouda to snitch on the US of A.
This was after a wave of anti-Trump protests throughout the US after the billionaire businessman pulled the unlikeliest win ever. Some of these protests turned violent.
“Recently we saw what happened in the US despite the fact that there were violent demonstrations. In fact, I was tempted to look for Bensouda to put a case against post-election violence in the United States,” he said amid laughter from the audience.
Uhuru’s joke was meant to show how countries in Africa are handled differently when it comes to international justice.
