A Secondary school teacher was on Tuesday arrested for impersonating a student in the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations in Sameta, Kisii County.
Joshua Otoki, 34, from Nyabururu Girls Secondary School was nabbed by a keen invigilator who noticed that he had written a female name on the answer sheet.
The incident happened during a Chemistry exam at Sameta examinations centre for private students.
County Criminal Investigation Officer Justus Burudi identified the student as 20-year-old Quinter Kerubo who was also arrested.
“We suspect that the female student made the arrangement with the teacher so as to secure an excellent result in the subject,” he said.
He added that the pair would be arraigned in court this week for exam malpractice.
