m6Despite being one of China’s top mobile phone manufacturers, Gionee is only just now making an entry into the Kenyan market. The brand is well recognized in Europe and is among the top 10 most popular phones in many European countries.

They may be late to the party in Kenya, but they are determined to compensate for that.

The Gionee M6 Lite comes with 3 GB of RAM, essential in ensuring it runs all apps smoothly. This is despite improvements in the android OS over the years which have led to efficient RAM consumption.

With this phone, you’ll not need to download additional memory management and speed booster apps like Clean Master.

The Gionee M6 Lite comes fitted with Android 6 (Marshmallow). It also has Gionee’s custom overlay, the Amigo OS, which adds more features like a theme engine and their own app store.

This phone comes with a generous internal storage memory of 32Gb.

It can also be expanded up to 256GB via an SD card.

The Gionee M6 Lite has a 13 megapixels back camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The back camera is a quite bright and vibrant, and does a better job taking in the light than most phones in its budget range.

Here’s a HDR test between the Gionee M6 Lite and a Tecno Camon C8 (dubbed a camera phone).

The Gionee M6 Lite comes with a big 4,000mAh battery. This should be more than adequate for a whole day of use, for a heavy user. Light users might not need to recharge for up to 2 days.

It also comes with fast charging innovations, and according to the company, 30 minutes of charge will give you a whole day’s use.

Further, the battery is removable, something users love but manufacturers have been moving away from. This can come in handy eg. when if falls in water and you’re trying to save it.

Screen and Display

The screen is strengthened giving it more resistant to scratches and breakages.

The display is a full HD Amoled, similar to what is found in many top of the range phones.

On Thursday and Friday (November 24th and 25th), Kilimall will bring the price of the Gionee M6 Lite down from Sh19,999 to Sh13,999.
