Once again, Kenyans on twitter have successfully used social media to seek justice and bring to book a culprit.

On Monday, the hashtag #ArrestMohamedAlfayo was trending on Twitter after a man identified as Calvin Mbane Alfayo aka Mohamed Alfayo bragged about having sex in a bush with an underage girl.

He even went as far as posting photos as proof.

The long arm of the law has caught up with the paedophile. Calvin was arrested on Tuesday at the border town of Chebilat.

Alfayo Mbane,29, was nabbed at the trading centre at around 11.00am at a cyber cafe.

According to Sotik OCPD Jonathan Ngala, the suspect was trailed from 9.00am by detectives from Sotik police station.

“The suspect is under custody and we are now working on the investigations to confirm that he was the one posting them or whether his Facebook page may have been hacked,” said the police boss.

The arrest came after  Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery said Alfayo was being pursued in a press briefing.

“The pedophile who defiled the Class four pupil is going to be arrested and charged,” Nkaissery said on Tuesday before the arrest.

IG Joseph Boinnet who was also present during the press briefing said: “Kenyans need to be wary about using abusive language on social media”.
