Before yesterday, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta had not been seen in public for almost one month.
Her unusual disappearance had raised eyebrows considering she is always by her husband’s side, or individually engaging in charity.
Since September 20th, the official Facebook page of the first lady had remained a ghost page, until some photos of her meeting with Roche Group were posted last night.
Whether by coincidence or design, the activity on the first lady’s page, and by the first lady herself came right after Nation published a story asking for whereabouts.
The newspaper had reached out to State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu for a comment, but he simply said ”he will get back”.
Among the major events the first lady missed was the visit by fashion designer Victoria Beckham, who was in the country particularly to support Beyond Zero.
The wife of football legend David Beckham instead met wives of governors in the different counties she visited, as well as Health Cabinet Secretary.
When South African President Jacob Zuma and his wife Sizakele Zuma were in State House, Margaret Kenyatta was again conspicuously absent. Defence Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo was tasked with keeping the South African first lady company.
Well, Margaret was gone for barely 4 weeks, so it’s likely she just took her annual leave.
