knifeA middle aged man narrowly escaped having his manhood chopped off by his wife in Kwanza, Trans Nzoia County.

The two started quarreling when the man wanted to have sex with his wife, Nation reports.

However, the woman was unwilling saying she was unhappy that he had tried to buy land without consulting her.

The wife was angry that her husband had used about Sh200,000 of the money they got from the sale of maize to buy land contrary to her wish.

“She refused to have sex with me and instead grabbed a kitchen knife and tried to chop off my manhood.

“I overpowered her and ran away for safety, bleeding,” the villager told to journalists.

He said his wife had hidden the knife under the bed.

The woman is said to have then rushed to the nearby Kwanza health centre, where she alleged that her husband had attempted to sexually molest their daughter and should not be treated if he showed up there.

The health centre turned the man away when he went to seek treatment, prompting him to call the police.

“He narrated his ordeal to the police who assisted him get medication.

“He was stitched and later discharged,” Kwanza sub-county AP commandant Vincent Khamala said.

The wife denied attempting to mutilate her husband but conceded that she refused his advances for sex for buying land without consulting her.

“We had a fight with my husband when he made sexual advances towards me. When I refused, he cut his organ to fix me.

“I did not cut him as he  has alleged,” she told journalists.

She was arrested and is expected to face charges at the Kitale Law courts once the police are through with their investigations.
