Homa Bay police have apprehended 39 youths suspected of torching a billboard belonging to the Jubilee Party in the town on Wednesday.
The heavily armed officers rounded up the youths at the Homa Bay bus park.
Confirming the arrests, County Police Commander John Omusanfa said the operation was still on.
“We will not relent until all those who were involved in the incident are arrested and brought to book,” he said.
The Wednesday incident saw police rescue two employees of Magnate Ventures who were putting up the banners, from the wrath of the youths who were baying for their blood.
Mr Victor Mbakaya, one of the employees said that they never knew it had President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s images until when they unwrapped it.
