Renown media personality Anyiko Owoko will no longer be gracing our television screens, having hosted her last show this week.
The (former) ‘Grapevine’ host has announced her exit from the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, after an incredible 7 years.
Anyiko has been host of the entertainment and arts show for most of it’s more than a decade’s existence.
Terming the decision to leave the show ‘bittersweet’, Anyiko says she is leaving in pursuit of something different, challenging, bigger and better.
“Right now my whole system craves for something different, challenging, bigger and better. It’s bitter-sweet to leave the show that I love so dearly but the break is necessary for me at this point in time to allow me to reflect on my past, present and future. Plus I can finally be free on Sundays, starting with my upcoming Birthday on Sept 4th,” she posted.
In a blog post titled ‘Looking Beyond: A Tribute to Grapevine TV Show‘, Anyiko pens in detail how she landed the job and overcame challenges to become one of the best media personalities in the country.
She also thanked those who have supported her all along in her journey.
She however did not disclose what her next project(s) will be.
