Charles Njagua Kanyi better known as Jaguar on Monday visited the rehab centre where his dad has been admitted for alcohol addiction.
Last year, the singer and director at the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse(NACADA) made known of his father’s struggles with the bottle after he confiscated his car for drunk driving.
“This is a family matter and I’m just looking out for my father. I was called by the local youth who are helping me fight alcoholism and they informed me that my father had gone back to excessive drinking. I had to confiscate his car keys to save him from causing an accident. He can have them back when he stops drinking. I must look out for him because he is my only living parent,” Jaguar said in a past interview.
Following the incident, Jaguar sought help for his dad David Njagua, and had him admitted at the Serenity spring center in Nyeri.
On Monday, Jaguar was at the centre to check on the recovering addicts, including his father, and shared with his social media followers his father’s progress.
“Visited the Serenity spring center; A drug rehabilitation center in Nyeri where my Dad is currently undergoing rehabilitation due to alcohol addiction. It has been a long journey battling the addiction but I believe He is finally overcoming it,” he wrote.
