On Tuesday morning, we published a story on Njoki Chege’s alleged plagiarism. Little did we know that the biggest global story of the day would be plagiarism related.
Donald Trump’s wife Melania Trump gave what was supposed to be her biggest speech ever at the Republican National Convention. However, it only took a few minutes for journalists to point out striking similarities between her speech and Michelle Obama’s Democratic National Convention speech in 2008.
Kenyans were not left behind in attacking her or making jokes about it. The loudest lot was KOT, a good number of whom are University students or recent graduates.
Plagiarism is quote common especially in universities and it takes different forms.
You can copy an assignment or an exam from your friend, or duplicate Wikipedia on your term paper. You can also steal/borrow a final year project.
By definition, plagiarism is the act of taking someone else’s work or ideas and passing them as your own.
So now by a show of hands, how many have Never been involved in plagiarism.
