Residents of Naivasha burned an effigy of Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge after he said Central Kenya will not automatically support William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
Over the weekend, the nominated senator said that DP Ruto should not demand Central Kenya’s support in 2022 general election. He asked the DP to ‘stop trying to blackmail Kikuyus to automatically support him in 2022.’
The protesters were joined by area leaders in demonstrating during which they lashed out at the Senator for his “baseless” sentiments.
While supporters of Jubilee in Naivasha where Senator Njoroge hails from were burning his effigy in protest, TNA was issuing a stern declaration that the senator has no authority to speak on behalf of the party or the coalition.
TNA chairman Johnson Sakaja through a statement said the party was aware that outside forces within the political landscape in Kenya were keen on destabilising Jubilee.
