Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru has urged the Nairobi electorate to shun Governor Evans Kidero and Senator Mike Sonko in the 2017 election as they seek for the gubernatorial seat for Nairobi county.
The Jubilee legislator has blasted the two leaders after they were involved in a physical altercation before a senate public accounts committee.
Waweru said that the fight between the two county leaders show lack of leadership in them.
“I condemn the hollowness, lack of restraint and decorum on individuals supposed to lead the county of Nairobi and by extension Kenya’s heartbeat,” he said as quoted by The Star.
Mr Waweru is eyeing the governorship seat currently held by Kidero.
He added that the fight has brought shame to the capital city of the entire nation.
“The tantrums witnessed in the Senate today between the governor and the senator must prick the conscience of every right-thinking and self-respecting Nairobian. Why should we continue being held hostage by such lack of thoughtfulness and uncalled for violence?” he said.
The MP also revisited Kidero’s slap on Nairobi county Women Representative Rachael Shebesh, saying it is yet another incident which serves to highlight how intolerant the leaders are.
“Coming after another highly publicised slap by the governor on Nairobi woman representative Rachel Shebesh, it brings utter shame and disrespect to the city of Nairobi, Kenya’s esteemed capital,” he said.
