The theft reportedly occurred on November 18 at Thome Estate.
Ih his statement, the accused claimed he met with Mugo wa Wairimu at Muthaiga Police Station while in police custody last September. The two reportedly became friends and exchanged contacts.
The court heard that the suspect arrived at the Mugo’s home at 10am in the company of the doctor after he had called Mugo’s home to seek for refuge claiming he had been thrown out of his house.
Mugo’s wife is said to have left the house to rush to her place of work leaving Mugo and the accused behind.
Later that night, the family reportedly ate dinner together before retiring for the night. The suspect was left to sleep in the sitting room where the gadgets were left charging.
