The Kenyan afro-pop band are in a world of their own at the moment, having capped off an amazing excursion in New York at the Global Citizen Festival. Just when you think you have seen all there is to see from the lads, they keep surprising and have done tremendously well for a band that no one really cared about when it started.
Initially an acapella group formed by vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano and Delvin Mudigi, guitarist Polycarp Otieno joined later before they named themselves Sauti.
They have grown to become one of the best bands in the continent. Though most of the credit goes to the lad’s undeniable talent, there is someone who saw that talent, believed in them and gave them a shot…their first manager.
Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime took to social media to introduce the lady by the name, Nikita Terremoto, whom many knew nothing about.
He captioned a photo, “Amsterdam with our first ever manager nikita terremoto. Took us from playing in the streets and gave us a shot when nobody really cared. God Bless you girl.”
She responded saying, “LOVE you guys and SO proud of you!!!!!”
