There was a terror scare at Garden City Mall along Thika Road yesterday. At around 4pm, a man who was acting suspiciously was arrested at a checkpoint attempting to enter the mall on foot.
He was searched by mall security, and was found to be carrying a small handheld device. The mall was evacuated and anti-terrorism police immediately called to the scene. Two more men were arrested.
This incident came just a day before the official opening of the mall, billed the largest in East Africa (at least before Two Rivers completion).
The mall issued this statement.
