High-flying Boy Band Sauti Sol last week saved the day at the Athi Fest after controversial Ugandan artiste Chameleone failed to show up. The Ugandan was supposed to be the headline act, and the guys behind Sura Yako, together with gospel singer Bahati were left with that responsibility.
The charity event was held at Wattle Blossom Lodge.
Organizers said that Chameleone’s no-show was not because of money, as rumoured, but due to conflicting schedules. “It was partly our fault since he was expected to perform at a certain time. He had also been performing at other venues including at a street bash in Nakuru so he was exhausted,” said one of the organisers.
Among those present were Machakos governor Alfred Mutua and singer Jaguar.
