The one thing about our number plate system is the simplicity to tell a new car from an old one. I believe we’re currently at ‘KCB’ prefix, just weeks after we started with ‘KCA’. It shows how the number of car owners is increasing.
It is therefore common sense that you cannot spot a new car with a 1990’s plate. In July, we posted a photo here showing a new Nissan X-Trail with a ‘KAB’ plate. It emerged that it’s most probably owned by the CID.
The same plate has been spotted again, on one of the newer models of Toyota Corolla. If their aim is to conceal their government ownership and make themselves as nondescript as possible, perhaps they should try sensible plates, like ‘KBL’, not going back 20 years in history.
