It’s almost impossible to believe that 1 year has passed since the unfortunate inferno at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
The International Arrivals terminal was engulfed in the fire for several hours, forcing arriving planes to be diverted to Eldoret, Tanzania and Uganda. It took over 5 hours to contain the fire, which reportedly started at around 4am.
Characteristic of Kenya, we have never received a clear explanation on what really happened.
Kenya Airports Authority however picked itself up and the transformation at JKIA in just one year is incredible.
