rao2President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday evening gave a personal contribution of sh200,000 to Ida Odinga’s mother, Mama Rosah Ayuya Oyoo, funeral kitty during a fundraiser at All Saints Cathedral. This was one of the two fundraisers planned for Wednesday, with the other being at her rural home in Migori county.

Raila Odinga skipped the fundraiser, with his son attending the event that raised Sh1 million. Justice Ouko was also in attendance.

President’s director of political affairs Joshua Kutuny handed the president’s donation, saying that Uhuru was committed to reaching out to leaders from all political divide. He said the government is not after fighting the opposition but rather fostering unity of purpose.

“The government reckons that the same challenges that faces the jubilee supporters are faced by CORD supporters hence the need to address them with a bipartisan approach,” he said.

Kutuny gave a personal donation of Sh50,000.

Mama Rosah passed away on Thursday last week at St Joseph’s Mission Hospital Ombo in Migori Town where she was being treated.

She was in her 90′s.
