For a long time, Hell’s Gate has been a favorite destination for the local tourist. The controversial location has also claimed the lives of many. In the last incident dating back to April 2012, seven people lost their lives as they were swept away by flash floods.
That being a by the way, the national park (Kenya’s second smallest) is in great danger after reports that a section of the park is to be carved out for “development”.
A power station is set to be put up, following a deal between KWS and KenGen dating back to 2008.
Quite sad as the project is already underway.
