Last week, Nation newspaper pullout Buzz wrote that the Ace boy band, Sauti Sol cancelled their international trip to Amsterdam to attend Governor Alfred Mutua’s event.
Apparently the Afro-Fusion music band had been paid quite a lump sum to perform at Dr Mutua’s wife, Lillian Nganga’s birthday at Karen Blixen.
Speaking to the Nairobian, Sauti Sol rubbished those claims. “That’s a lie, we did not cancel our flight, we just rescheduled our travel dates as per his request. It was not a command, but rather a favor to a long term friend,” Sauti Sol’s Delvin said.
However, the band were unwilling to disclose the amount they were offered to feature in the event saying, “why are you interested in the amount? Sauti Sol have friends like everyone and sometimes we just want to hang out. It doesn’t always have to do with money.”
Well, there you have it.
