Things got heated up on Monday in Machakos county’s cabinet meeting when the deputy governor, Bernard Kiala, was kicked out and blocked from getting to his official car, which had its registration number pulled down.
He was kicked out by the county’s governor, Dr. Alfred Mutua who demanded that he walks out to allow the cabinet to discuss his conduct. Apparently, Mutua was not amused by the fact that his deputy attended CORD’s rally in Machakos on Sunday.
In a press briefing, Kiala confirmed this, saying the move to attend the Cord rally in Machakos on Sunday did not go down well with Mutua.
He said he will consult his lawyers in regard to fighting for some of the constitutional privileges taken away from him and will not be cowed by some of the governor’s close confidants.
Kiala was forced to take a matatu to Nairobi on Monday for the Saba Saba rally held at Uhuru Park.
