Nairobi County Governor, Dr Evans Kidero Tuesday unveiled a new 120 bed maternity wing at Mbagathi Hospital aimed at boosting health service delivery.

The new unit has been built at a cost of Sh 220 million and according to Kidero it will ease access to maternal health services thus helping Kenya realize the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of reducing death of mothers and infants at childbirth.

Today, I unveiled a new 120-bed maternity wing at Mbagathi Hospital to boost health service delivery to residents.

The County Government is further investing an additional Ksh.150M to put up a High Dependency Unit at Mbagathi Hospital, which is also a referral hospital for serious communicable diseases.
