Kamande wa Kioi is a sensational Kikuyu musician with hits that never miss out on air plays and club plays. The controversial musician was caught up in tussles with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) on alleged hate speech in one of his songs in the run up to the last general election. His controversial song ‘Uhuru Ni Witu’ was banned and an order issued by NCIC that any station that played it would be liable to a fine not exceeding Ksh1 Million.
The towering musician is at it again but this time with a song made from the trending hashtag #BabaWhileYouWereAway.’ The term came along when former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was making a return into the country after a 3 month tour of the US.
In the song, Kamande simply says that Kenya was at peace prior to Baba’s return, and it would be better if he just left again.
