Well, if you thought music doesn’t pay, here’s a reason to prove you wrong.

Last week on Friday, Kenya Association of Music Producers (KAMP) and Performers Rights Society of Kenya (PRISK) revealed that producers and performers are set to receive a whole Ksh 11.8 million as proceeds for the year 2013.

According to a notice published on local dailies, the two bodies were notifying all producers of sound recordings and performers that they are finalizing their distribution for amounts due for the year 2013.

“Kindly note that the total distribution amount owing to producers and performers for the year closing 31st December 2013 is KES 11,813,990.60/-”,
