Kethi Kilonzo rose to fame when she was appointed one of the lawyers to represent Africog after a petition was filed against the presidential results of the last general elections. She continued to hit the headlines after tragically losing her dad, Mutula Kilonzo and was the favorite candidate to succeed him in the senate.
Things got bad when it was revealed that her academic papers were not genuine and that she ‘stole’ voter’s registration acknowledgement slip making her not eligible to vie for the senate seat. This prompted the lass to take a long hiatus and certainly get away from the public eye.
From bad to worse, a warrant of arrest was yesterday issued against her after she failed to appear in court for the hearing of a criminal case against her. The warrant was issued by Nairobi Chief Magistrate Ann Ndungu in the case where Kethi is accused of stealing a voter’s registration acknowledgement slip.
The court was however informed that she had obtained an order stopping the criminal case pending the hearing of an application before the High Court.
The order, according to trial magistrate, has not been served on the lower court to ascertain if the criminal case has been halted by the High Court.
