About two months ago, police rounded up 129 youths in Mombasa who were being radicalized at Masjid Shuhadaa Mosque in Mombasa. Out of the 129, a group of 40 boys were released because civil society organization protested saying the boys were not above 18 years of age.
Now, reports coming in from local bloggers claim that one of the boys arrested in the police swoop was spotted in Raila’s Tononoka rally. Along with the claims are photos showing the familiar face of a young boy who was arrested waving an Al Shabaab flag. Apparently, he had a tag written security during the rally.
This comes amid allegations that the local politicians were behind Sunday’s Mpeketoni attacks in which over 50 people died. However, through Anyang’ Nyong’o, the CORD party has denied any involvement and shifted the blame back to the Jubilee government.
