Thousands of people trooped to Machakos on Saturday for what promised to be a fun filled weekend. First there was the Masaku 7s, which has always been a crowd puller, then there was the After 7s party later that night. ASK was also having their show that day. Many people however did not get there as early as they would have wished, with some vehicles getting stuck in traffic for a reported 6 hours.
As we give Alfred Mutua a 21 tweet salute for preparing Machakos to be the Culture HQ of Kenya, here are 21 tweets that should remind him and the government that they should do something about that road.
My bro left for Masaku with so much psych yesterday, not heard from him since. Seems phone ran out of juice while he was still in traffic.

The best decision we made yesterday was to divert to Kitengela instead of heading to Masaku….even at 8pm the traffic was karibu mlolongo

But whoever was involved in advertising Masaku 7s deserves a bonus. There hasn’t been such traffic to any event.

If machakos county wants masaku 7s to be a success for starters we need a dual carriage. Can’t do 9 hr traffic.
