antivirus280514Twelve youth from Baringo County have successfully created the first Anti-virus software in Africa.

The project was started three years ago by a team comprising of form four leavers. They started their research at a small local technology center in a remote village in Baringo, Bunifu Technologies and they have finally realized their dream.

According to Keith Korir, Bunifu founder, the Anti Virus dubbed ‘Bunifu Snipper Malware’ is a homemade device capable of recovering lost files.

“We are a nexus of engineering and programming and since inception we have developed more than 50 products such as mobile, desktop, web and engineering solutions and tools,” says Keith Korir.

“The anti-virus has an in-built console panel that will help users recover infected files safely,” adds Korir.

The Anti Virus was launched at a colourful ceremony at Kenya School of government in Kabarnet recently. It features a wireless and Local Area Network (LAN) scanner that can scan devices within your Wi-Fi range or over your LAN, a document, file and folder repair and restore, file and folder unlock sensor, wireless and LAN sensor as well as piracy protection.
