Kenya’s controversial whisper song Nyce And Slow, a production of Candy N Candy Records has been considered for nomination in this year’s MTV Europe Awards. This comes amidst the explicit song topping the UK Reverb charts for almost two weeks.
Late last week, the recording house received an official cover-form from the organizing secretariat expressing interest in nominating the single. But there is a catch for this to happen. Apparently the song needs to have more than 2000 votes for it to be nominated.
“All we are urging our fans is to vote highly for the song once it’s put up for voting this Friday. the song must amass 2000 or more votes in order to be nominated for the awards and we hope our fans will not let us down,” Joe Kariuki told The Star.
It remains to be seen whether the song will be supported by the Kenyan public, having been snubbed heavily by local stations who consider it too explicit.
