violaAdapt or perish, now as ever, is nature’s inexorable imperative. Former Afro fusion artiste Viola Karuri knows this all too well as she says she is better off doing pop music than afro fusion.
The Berklee College of Music educated singer has been riding high on her two released pop songs so far which have been well received. She says they have been getting more positive reviews than her previous Afro-fusion songs.
“Kenyans like commercial music, and one has to do such kind of music first before going back to what you had originally planned to do,” she told Nairobi News.
Viola first released Aibu produced by Ogopa DJs, which had a very warm reception amongst youthful listeners before recently dropping Milele featuring rapper Collo.
