Kenyan musician Makadem poses in front of a poster of U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Senator Obama in NairobiThere is such a thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time as Afro-fusion singer Makadem escaped arrest last week near the 680 Hotel in Nairobi, when police were arresting everyone on the streets.

Makadem through his Facebook page said he was forced to seek refuge at the 680 Casino to avoid being victimized by the law enforcers on Monday night. He said police were arresting prostitutes and anyone who posed as a potential client.

Maintaining his innocence, Makadem, also known as Ohangla man, criticized the police saying that most of the people on the streets were innocent civilians going about minding their own business and not necessarily soliciting the services of prostitutes.
