For several weeks, Ruto’s youngest son George was undergoing a transition from childhood to adulthood in a Kitengela bush.
The 14 year old had joined 65 other agemates in the male circumcision ritual. For over four weeks, George stayed in the bush until he completely healed. According to traditions, the young men should have worn sack clothes for the entire duration.
Following the graduation to adulthood, the deputy president hosted a feast for George at their Sugoi home on Saturday.
Among the guests were: senators Charles Keter, Kipchumba Murkomen and COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
