Sex and The City Actress ‘Charlotte York’ Reveals Desire To Quit Acting To Save Elephants in Kenya

She is best-loved as the Park Avenue princess Charlotte York in Sex and the City.
But in real-life, Kristin Davis, 48, is less about designer clothes and prime locations, and more concerned with wildlife and the well being of elephants.
Kristin – who adopted her daughter Gemma in 2011 – has revealed how she would like to retire from acting and travel to Kenya to help the large mammals.

‘Elephants are under extreme attack,’ Kristin reveals to Haute Living magazine.
She added: ‘I really want to quit acting and move [to Kenya] but they’re telling me that I can’t because they need me to be famous so people will listen to me.’
It seems charity boss Dame Daphne Sheldrick who runs the The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, has other ideas for Kristin.

Kristin works with Dame Daphne Sheldrick and the charity The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, where the actress says she would like to move
‘And when I mean “them,” I mean three generations of family: Dame Daphne, her daughter Angela, her husband and their son,’ she explains.
Kristin also fuels yet more fire for another Sex and the City movie in the interview, and reveals she is ‘open’ to the idea.
‘I’m going to have a little talk with Cynthia the next time I see her!’ she says.

Kristin admits the charity she supports would prefer her to raise awareness as a celebrity rather than move to Kenya and get her hands dirty
Kristin is clearly very passionate about elephants and her work with the The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya
‘I don’t think [a third film] is a pipe dream, there is discussion. People talk about it amongst the people who are the players, but I don’t know if it will come together. It would be very exciting if it did.’
Kristen, who looked fantastic in a number of dresses for the glossy shoot, revealed that she is happiest when she is at home with her daughter.
‘The greatest luxury is being home in the morning when my daughter wakes up and not have to go anywhere…my ultimate favorite day is not getting out of my pajamas,’ she said.

Adding: ‘I have a beautiful home, a beautiful yard, and a lot of food.’
Kristin can be next seen starring CBS’ Bad Teacher in 2014.
‘It’s a good departure. I’m excited to do it, I guess.’ she says.
‘I’m really lucky to have a job, but I have a two-year-old, and I’ve really been in mommy mode, which is separate from my charitable self.’
