Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has been all talk.. but wrong are you if you thought no action.
He has told us of his plans to transform Machakos into the city of choice. From modern stadiums, to a formula one track, to an amazing park, to lots of industries.. and of course Machawood.

Kenyatta Stadium in the county is currently under renovation, in readiness for the CECAFA tournament set to kick off later this month.
Before Mutua sent his people there, it was just sand and stone everywhere; a place not even conducive to hold a high school football match.
Now, after only a few weeks, the place has stands for the spectators, modern dressing rooms and some fresh grass on the pitch.
Going by latest images from Kenyatta Stadium, this might soon become Kenya’s ‘greenest’ football pitch, ahead of both Kasarani and Nyayo stadiums.

Have a look at this picture… Four weeks ago, this was pure sand with no trace of grass.

The grass is getting greener by the day

Brown patches are often seen at Kasarani
And at Nyayo stadium too
