David Rudisha Ranked Ahead of Gareth Bale and Van Persie, As One of The World’s Most Marketable Athlete

Kenya’s Olympic gold medalist David Rudisha has been ranked ahead of some of the most recognized names in sports, as number 41 most marketable athlete in the world.
Sportspro, the company behind the ranking, takes the following into account when compiling the list: Value for money, age, home market, charisma, willingness to be marketed and crossover appeal.


Brazilian Neymar has been ranked number one, ahead of Lionel Messi who comes second.
Usain Bolt appears at number 5, with Novak Djokovic, Lewis Hamilton and Cristiano Ronaldo appearing at number 6,7 and 8 in that order. 

Others making an appearance in the top 50 are Lebron James, Vincent Kompany, Jack Wilshere, Shinji Kagawa and Gareth Bale.
Rudisha at number 41 is ranked higher than Bale (48) and an endless list of other household names, like, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Sergio Aguero, Frank Lampard, Theo Walcott etc.
