Wavinya Ndeti’s Father Shot By Gangsters

Assistant minister Wavinya Ndeti’s father was on Thursday shot by gunmen at his home in Athi River. Mzee Peter Nzau, was shot on the hip, while his 13 year old grandson Peter Nzau, was shot on the arm. The form one student was reportedly shot after he pleaded with the four-man gang to spare the life of the old man. 
Mzee Nzau lives with his grandchildren, who were at the time watching a movie.
Reportedly, the gangsters forced their way into the house by knocking the door down with heavy stones, before taking the grandchildren hostage, as they went for Mzee’s bedroom.
On failing to provide them with any money, Mzee Nzau was shot on the hip.

As this was happening, Wavinya Ndeti was attending a dance party to raise funds for her campaign for governor seat, which was being held at Connection Hotel in Mlolongo. She cut short her party and headed to hospital to be with her family.
