Police were by yesterday afternoon still counting millions of shillings recovered from two suspects in Mwiki estate believed to have been stolen from Chase bank in Nairobi on Sunday night.
Nairobi police boss Anthony Kibuchi yesterday confirmed that millions of shillings had been recovered in Mwiki but said the amount had not been established because investigations were ongoing. ” Be patient and we will inform you how much has been recovered and how many suspects are under arrest. We will tell you who they are. We are still conducting our investigations, “Kibuchi said yesterday.
Police arrested a couple yesterday morning after they were tipped off by members of the public that the two were locked in a house in Mwiki counting large sums of money.
Detectives found the couple in the house with the money when they raided the residence and moved them to the Nairobi Area Provincial Police headquarters where they were joined bank officials.
