Following widespread complains from people living in Nairobi, Embakasi mp, Ferdinand Waititu is set to erase the graffiti that he has painted in various parts of Nairobi. The graffiti writing painted mainly on the flyovers along newly built Thika Road, read, Waititu 4 Governor. Nairobiwire.com wrote a blog post condemning the act and it seems someone was listening.

Nairobi town clerk, Phillip Kisia ordered Waititu to erase the graffiti or face an arrest. Last week, Waititu was given a notice to clear all the writings on the walls within 48 hours. That notice expired, but the water assistant minister called the Director of City Planning, Patrick Tom Odongo’s office, requesting for more time to clear the mess.

Predictably Waititu could not claim responsibility over the act, he said the graffiti was the “work of mischievous characters sponsored by my opponents”
