What is the cost of Whitney Houston’s death? Well, Apple’s iTunes and Sony music have more than doubled Whitney Houston’s albums. The price of Houston’s 2007 Ultimate Collection skyrocketed from £3 ($4.70) to £7.99 ($12.60) within 30 minutes of her death. The two companies have been criticized for cashing in on the singer’s death.

On Monday, 7 of Houston’s albums were on Amazon’s top ten, with ‘I Will Always Love You’ topping iTunes. Whitney Houston died on Saturday, aged 48, in a Beverly Hills hotel amid speculation over her cause of death. It was initially claimed she had drowned, but the Los Angeles coroner’s office is disputing that.
